The new Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy will support the Council’s Housing Strategy approved in 2023 and will set out our priorities for the prevention and reduction of homelessness over the next five years.
The surveys below is an opportunity for our residents, communities, partners and stakeholders to have their say and help shape our strategic approach to homelessness in the borough.
Homelessness can range from sofa surfing and rough sleeping, to living in temporary accommodation. It is the absence of safe and secure affordable accommodation.
We have identified four draft priorities for a new strategy that would help deliver outcomes to prevent and reduce homelessness in Redbridge. We would welcome your views on these.
Both surveys will close midnight Friday 22 November 2024.

| Deliver Affordable and sustainable Housing | This is about delivering homes to meeting housing need, and also to work with households and individuals at risk of homelessness to ensure they have access to sustainable housing that is affordable |
| Early intervention and prevention | This is about ensuring the work of the Council and its partners is undertaken earlier with residents to avoid homelessness occurring |
| Preventing / minimising rough sleeping | This is about reducing the risk of rough sleeping by with the Council with its partners to prevent it occurring and having clear pathways to exiting rough sleeping |
| Partnership Working with Third Sector | The Council has a Homelessness partnership group that has representation from a range of statutory, community and voluntary partners. It is envisaged this partnership will play a key role in delivering the new strategy. In addition there may be practical ways in the community and voluntary sector could help in delivery including such as advice, shelter, or support in other ways. |
An informative document has been published alongside to help inform the conversation and we would welcome your views and feedback by completing this survey. The feedback we receive from the survey, and any events will help shape the final Strategy in 2025. Our preference is for you to complete the survey online please so we can analyse the responses in greater detail and more quickly.

- A survey for individuals and residents
- A survey for organisations (statutory, community or voluntary groups). The feedback we receive will be used to inform the development of the new Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy which we expect to complete by April 2025
- A survey is for young people aged 11 to 18. Please complete this survey if your age falls within this age range
